The Surgery of the Broken Leg of ‘Chubby’, a three-month-old Rabbit Baby
Dr. Zoltan Szabo 2022-12-02

"Chubby" is one of the most adorable rabbits Dr. Zoltan had the privilege to operate on. He was only three months old and 460g when he came to see us for the first time. The owner purchased him a few days before and accidentally dropped him. Unfortunately, Chubby broke his left femur, and the owner didn't have the money to pay for the surgery, so she decided to surrender the rabbit.

Luckily, the Hong Kong Rabbit Society (兔協 HKRS - 香港兔友協會 Hong Kong Rabbit Society) adopted Chubby, and we could do the surgery to save his leg. The surgery was done at the end of the week, and we didn't have exotic vets in the hospital that weekend, so I took him home for a few days after his surgery. He was a very well-behaved roommate and recovered very well!

Chubby is one of the dozens of rabbits that the dedicated volunteers of the HK Rabbit Society adopted and saved. However, they are currently struggling financially. If you have some money to spare, please check out their website (www.hkrabbit.org) and donate.
