Mo Mo, a lively 7-month-old pup, had been living his best life — until three months ago, when he suffered a fracture in his right femur (thigh bone). After bandaging failed to produce the expected recovery, his owners brought him to Concordia Pet Care for further evaluation.
Upon examination, our team discovered that Mo Mo's fracture wasn't simply the result of a physical impact. The underlying cause was nutritional imbalance. An unbalanced diet had left Mo Mo's bones brittle and fragile — so weak that even a minor bump was enough to cause a break.
No matter your pet's age or energy level, a nutritionally balanced diet is fundamental to their health — especially for growing puppies and kittens whose bones are still developing.
If you have questions about your pet's diet or nutritional needs, don't hesitate to speak with one of our veterinarians.
