We are delighted to announce that Dr. Dean Felkler has joined Concordia Pet Care as Head of Exotic Services.

Dr. Dean is an experienced exotic animal veterinarian with an international clinical career spanning the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Australia. His work has focused exclusively on exotic animal medicine, surgery and complex case management. He has led and developed exotic animal departments within large veterinary organisations and previously worked as one of Hong Kong's most senior exotic veterinarians at Asia's largest exotic animal referral centre.

International Experience and Specialist Qualifications

Dr. Dean graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London with a BSc and BVetMed, and holds a CertAVP in Zoological Medicine from the University of Edinburgh. He is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine, a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Reptile and Amphibian Practice, and a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

During his time in Australia, Dr. Dean established and led specialist exotic services, while continuing to work closely with wildlife organisations including zoos, animal sanctuaries and wildlife hospitals. These experiences have given him extensive exposure to a wide range of exotic and wildlife species.

High-Quality Care for Exotic Species

Dr. Dean's clinical interests include advanced diagnostics and endoscopy, soft tissue surgery, reptile and amphibian medicine, rabbit dentistry and facial surgery, and complex medical and surgical case management. He is particularly passionate about combining evidence-based medicine with practical clinical approaches to deliver high-quality care for exotic species.

Dr. Dean has had a lifelong passion for reptiles, birds and small mammals, which ultimately led him into exotic animal practice. He believes exceptional veterinary care comes from combining specialist knowledge with compassion, communication and continual learning.

Raising Standards in Exotic Animal Care

At Concordia Pet Care, Dr. Dean will work closely with our clinical team to further develop our exotic animal services and provide comprehensive, professional care for a wide range of species. He is also passionate about educating pet owners and supporting veterinary professionals through teaching, mentoring and continuing education.
